Front Description
1988 Mickey Mouse Gold Medal Olympics Pin. This pin was available in 1988 at Disneyland and created to salute the USA's participation in the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Though it is similar in its design, it is not part of the 30-pin framed set commemorating the 1988 Olympics (#5007). It is reported to be the series' lead pin as Mickey is wearing his red, white and blue United States colors and dons his gold medal. The pin is a little bigger than the others in this series. "Disneyland Olympic Team Salute 1988." Reportedly, this pin was given only to the Olympians that appeared in the celebration parades at Disneyland.
