This pin commemorates the 23rd Annual Festival of the Masters held at Downtown Disney November 13-15, 1998. This is a juried arts festival which runs in October or November each year. Since this predated the pin trading fervor, the number of pins which were ordered was very low, and even so took weeks to sell out. According to the cast members at this year's festival, they only ordered 140 the previous year (which was why they thought 300 pins would be enough for this event). Festival of the Masters is a nationally recognized art festival featuring nearly 150 award-winning artists in the Downtown Disney area. It was first held at Walt Disney World Resort in 1975. The top artwork of this pin was also on the program cover in 1998. This cloisonne pin has a white background and shows Mickey in Piet Mondrian's famous abstract format. The "dangle" has "23rd Downtown Disney Festival of the Masters" in black, with a paintbrush making the "i" in festival. 1" (25 mm) wide x 2 1/4" (56 mm) tall, dangle included.
