Front Description
This pin was issued to commemorate Disney's Rock 'N Rockets - a two day firework and music festival held during the 50th Annual Convention of the American Pyrotechnics Association (Please correct me if I have that name wrong). This was held in September 1998, and the fireworks were supplied by the convention participants, so each was trying to outdo the other. This was held over the Seven Seas Lagoon across from the Contemporary Hotel. The pin was sold only inside the gates at the event. The pin is about 1.5" wide and 1" high. It has a black background with a purple edge. On it it says "Disney's Rock N Rockets" ("Disney's" in white, "Rock 'N" in purple and "Rockets" in Red.) The T in Rockets is a lit rocket firework with an arrow pointed tip and yellow lit fuse bottom. Two version of this pin exist, this listed version and the exact same pin where the yeallow lit fuse lights up via a battery in the back of the pin and that pin is broach back, not post back like this one.
