Front Description
A larger plastic pin, this is part of a series of pins released in the 1980s by Monogram Products for Disney, celebrating Mickey next to various letters. Mickey (left facing left) is dressed in his role as a Three Musketeer, with baby blue outfit and hat, white plume, brown gloves and shoes or boots and yellow belt buckle on a black belt. He holds a sabre or sword over his head in a salute, using his right hand; his left hand is behind a large letter "Z" (possible tip of the hat to Zorro?) which is yellow with black outline. The front of the pin has a light beige yellow tint to it; this is not from aging, as there is a distinct difference between the front of the pin's color and the white back. Monogram may have used different materials at different times, as there is a version of this pin where the pin's front is white, not beige. The pin itself measures 1 3/4" wide (44 mm) by 1 7/8" (48 mm) tall. The back of the pin has a simplified brooch-style straight back pinback glued to the pin (a norm for Monogram pins back then). The backstamp is, "© THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY, MFG BY, MONOGRAM PRODUCTS, INC., LARGO, FLORIDA 34643, MADE IN ST. LUCIA. Similar in pose to the metal pin (#9034).
