Front Description
Donald Duck is depicted (as WWII nose art) with his usual demeanor (angry) wearing a leather flying helmet with the goggles up. Beneath Donald's head are crossed crutches. It is unknown if the duck is wearing pants. Originally painted on Lt. Ted Lawson's B-25B bomber which was one of Dolittle's Tokyo Raiders. For more information read 'Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo' or see the movie of the same name. This pin does not have any Disney copyright on the back. There is no writing at all on the back. It is an example of G.I. nose art from WWII. The Disney Studios did not do this design. The USAAF plane that carried this nose art bombed Japan after taking off from the U.S. Navy carrier Hornet in April of 1942. It ran out of gas and crash landed in China at the end of the mission which is know today as the Doolittle Raid.
