Front Description
From Disney's California Adventure Park, this is one of the sign series. It featured the Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream parlor. This pin on pin is in the shape of an ice cream cone with a cherry on top and is a replica of the Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream parlor sign. When it was in operation, a large opening of the famous California Zypher locomotive was the entrance to Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream. The parlor served for different Sundaes or you could choose from five different kinds of cones—regular, waffle, and three kinds of dipped waffle cones—with one or two scoops chosen from nine flavors of ice cream. Or you could design your own ice cream treat. Start with one or two scoops and then go wild with toppings. Ask for a cup. A cone with several toppings was too messy. The tilework in Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream was inspired by the Los Angeles Union Station. While waiting for your ice cream, you could admire the snowy, railroad-themed artwork on the back wall then take your ice cream treat outside and have a seat on the “train platform.” Its final day of operation was July 31, 2011, when the parlor and its neighbors closed so that the transformation of this part of Sunshine Plaza into Buena Vista Street could begin. When Buena Vista Street opened in June 2012, it had a new ice cream parlor, Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream. Pin measures: 1 x 2-1/8 inches.
