Front Description
A large dangle pin with Juan the Barker Bird (also known as/called Peg-Leg Pet) a pegleg pirate parrot from, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, sitting on a perch dangling beneath a scroll that says "A pirates life for me" above that it says "A celebration of Walt Disney Art Classics" (WDAC). The bird is wearing a black pirate hat wiht a skull and cross bone emblom on it, a red bandana is around his head and there is a ships anchor on his chest. The Barker Bird lived outside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World on-and-off until the early 2000's. Unlike the realistic parrot squawking at the queue in Disneyland, the WDW Barker Bird was every bit a character as the pirates in the ride. Warning: Be very careful when trading for this pin online. A knock-off has been seen that has a yellow scroll, not ivory as the original pin has. The colors of the parrot are much more intense also look at the eyeball. It is blue, black and white. The bootleg version does not appear to be as clearly defined. See PinPics #23866 for a picture of the boot-leg pin. Inside the brown sectin just below the word "Classics" is the phrase "March 2000". The measurements for the engire pin 3 1/2 by 2". the banner itself measures 1 /12 by 2". The chains each measure 1 1/4". The parrot part measures 2" by 2". The backing card is a mickey felt that measures 5" by 2 1/4". With the left ear that reads Walt Disney World across the Castle. Set: Authentic Pin #1259, Bootleg Pin #23866
