Front Description
This is the Orange Bird Board Exclusive pin from Epcot Pin Celebration 2014 "Imagination Gala: A Magic Carpet Event" pin event. This pin will be available through trading - exclusively to guests attending the Imagination Gala pin event. The pins will only be made available during the 2-day pin event and will not be available after the event. Pin features Orange Bird, in a tuxedo vest and bow tie, next to a golden Figment award statue. The Figment statue is holding a light bulb. Figment is done in yellow/green translucent paint fill. Previous Scrapper Comments
Possible scrapper alert. I saw this pin for sale in Orlando, Florida on a rack inside a souvenir shop (Orlando Gifts?) in the I-Drive 360 plaza beside Paramount Fine Foods. Figment was very green-coloured and the amount of stamping on the back of the pin seemed off. The backer card was a normal red Disney Parks Collection backer card.
Be aware that this pin is appearing on the infamous auction site and the seller is a well known counterfeit dealer.
Also seeing this pin at local flea markets on black backer cards.
I unknowingly traded for a scrapper version of this pin so I thought I'd share the differences in the scrapper vs. the real pin. -the orange and green colors on the bird are darker and the yellow is lighter than the real pin. -the gap between the Orange Bird and Figment is larger on the scrapper. -there is an extra gap that does not exist on the real pin, it is between Figment's head and the light bulb. The real pin appears to have a gap but it is filled in when viewed from the backside. -there are multiple gold lines on the scrapper that are not straight (squiggly), such as: the black base, white area under Orange Bird's bowtie, lightbulb, etc. -color of Figment's body is darker than the real pin. -the Mickey waffling does not go all the way to the edge. -multiple rough areas on the edges. -the surface on the back is more raised and not as smooth or shiny as the real pin. -the embossed areas on the back are not as legible as the real pin. -the pin back is smaller on the scrapper. -Figment's left horn has five segments on the real pin and four on the scrapper. I'm sure I missed a few differences and that not all scrappers will have the same traits but I hope this helps in differentiating a real pin from a fake one.
