Front Description

This is 2nd of a series of four related Chinese New Year pins released by HKDL for the Year of the Horse 2014. The pin comes with two separated element - the main diamond-shaped one and a long rectangular one. Both shapes reflect traditional decorations hanged in Chinese homes over the new year. The rectangular element can be dangled from the bottom of main element through a fastening like those common in necklace. This main element of this pin is in red and features the chinese character "Year". The character in each of the four pins in this series can be combined together (with this being the 2nd) to form the message "making improvement/progress in the year of horse". Three mickey shaped patterns are also printed on the background, the "face" of which is a common Chinese decorative pattern. Minnie is dressed in pink chinese dress and purple bow and shoes. She is holding a circular decoration to her right, which has lots of hidden mickeys surrounding another one in the center The dangling element is designed as scroll and has a spinner element. The four characters on the front is a common Chinese New Year greeting meaning along the line of "always filled with laughter". The characters of the back of the spinner reads 2014, with the "0" decorated in a hidden mickey (see picture of #99414 for the back showing 2014) in this series #99414 - Mickey [Horse] #99415 - Minnie [Year] #99416 - Donald [Forward] #99417 - Daisy [Step]
