Front Description

This is first of a series of four related Chinese New Year pins released by HKDL for the Year of the Horse 2014. The pin comes with two separated element - the main diamond-shaped one and a long rectangular one. Both shapes reflect traditional decorations hanged in Chinese homes over the new year. The rectangular element can be dangled from the bottom of main element through a fastening like those common in necklace. This main element of this pin is in red and features a horse in gold that is drawn to look like the chinese character for "horse". The character in each of the four pins in this series can be combined together (with this being the first) to form the message "making improvement/progress in the year of horse". Three mickey shaped patterns are also printed on the background, the "face" of which is a common Chinese decorative pattern. Mickey is dressed in Chinese costume with a purple hat and coat and yellow pants. He has his arms stretched up in the air and left leg raised. The dangling element is designed as scroll and has a spinner element. The four characters on the front is a common Chinese New Year greeting meaning along the line of "everything going as wished and being lucky and blessed". The characters of the back of the spinner reads 2014, with the "0" decorated in a hidden mickey in this series #99414 - Mickey [Horse] #99415 - Minnie [Year] #99416 - Donald [Forward] #99417 - Daisy [Step]
