Front Description

This is Mickey running in front of a house. Offered first as a pre-order for pre-registered 2001 Disneyana Convention "Conventionears", this 2001 Disneyana Convention Public Day pin was available for purchase at a limit of two pins per person. Then, it was again available for only 1 day - Public Day, Saturday, Sept 8th, 2001 - at the 2001 Disneyana Convention held at the Disneyland Resorts (Disneyland Hotel) in Anaheim, CA. It features a dapper Mickey Mouse running off to the Disneyland Family Reunion in front of a blue two-story house. he house number is 1 2 4 9, the Disney address when they lived in Kansas City. From an upper floor window, a silhouette of Walt tells Mickey (in a cartoon balloon), "Hey Mickey, have fun at the reunion!" The pin measures just around 1.5" in size. The pin is made of a gold tone enamel with a single post backing. From the 2001 Disneyana Convention logo merchandise pre-order brochure: "Mickey is off to join his family and friends at the Disneyana Family Reunion Public Day. Don't miss this collectible Public Day cloisonné pin." SPECIAL NOTES: - This is rumored to be the last Public Day pin ever made, due to Disney's announcement there will be no Public Day in 2002 for the "Disneyana Mystery" mini-convention held at Walt Disney World. - There are two versions of this pin. In this other version, Walt tells Mickey: "Hey Mickey, have fun at the reunion!" The other version has Walt saying from the house, "Have a great time Mickey!" ( from the pre-order brochure, shown above). #7531 The window shade coloring is reversed, as well.
