Front Description
This Cast Exclusive pin is the second in in a series of four commemorating four Disney theme park attractions that were introduced at the New York World's Fair in 1964. This pin #2 of 4 commemorates "Carousel of Progress." The pin is a multi-colored stylized rendition of the inside rotating rooms of the Disneyland Carousel of Progress attraction, with the left section showing a woman standing in a blue dress ironing a copper colored garment in front of a glitter gold background. The right half shows a man wearing a copper sweater and black pants seated in a white modern styled chair reading a light blue covered book in front of a dark blue glitter background. At the top in gold letters on an orange background it has "New York World's Fair" and in a pink oval just below is "1964-65" in gold letters. Below that it has in white it has "50th Anniversary." At the bottom of the pin in white letters on an orange colored banner it has "Carousel of Progress." The pin is mounted on the left side of a unique backer card. At the top of the card, which is decorated with abstract designs in several pastel colors, it has "50th Anniversary New York World's Fair Carousel of Progress SECOND IN A SERIES OF FOUR. Below that in white on a purple background it has, "The New York World's Fair held in 1964-65 introduced to the world four new attractions that still exist in Disney theme parks today. The Carousel of Progress attraction allowed an audience seated in a revolving auditorium to view an Audio-Animatronics presentation of the progress of electricity in the home. The delightful Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow refrain inspired folks then and serves as an inspiration today to believe that a brighter future is just around the corner." The pin back has one post near top center on a gold Mickey icon waffle pattern that extends past the edges without borders. There are four stamped sections below the post. First is the 2014 ODPT logo. Below that it has"CAST EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION 500." Below that it has "©DISNEY CHINA," and to its right is the code P389-7448-2 14166. The pin measures approx. 1 5/8" x 1 1/2" and the backer card is 3" x 5" which comes in a sealed cellophane envelope. Released at both WDW and DLR. Pins in this series: #100911, 102993, 105750, 107457
