This is a prototype of a pin that is now given to guests at the Adventurers Club on Disney's Pleasure Island.
According to the auction description, this prototype pin was only given to employees of the Disney company (making it a Cast Member pin) and has an edition size of 100.
It is a large pin, about 2.5 inches square, and has a jewelry pin clasp on the back. |

The button is almost 3 inches round. There are natives and explorers on the button. The natives are on the left side of the button and the explorers are on the right They are both tring to catch a butterfly. Also the earth is a compass in the middle of the main native and explorer. |

Available only as part of an Adventurer's Club Member Kit. There were two price ranges: $20 (Jr. Explorer's Kit) and $40 (the cheaper kit came with a canteen filled with the signature drink, the Kungaloosh!, a t-shirt, two pins - this one and (#15101), information about the club like the song, handshake, etc., and a "Buy 12 Get 1 Free" drink card). I think the more expensive kit also came with a watch.

Identical to pin 15102, except made completely of rubber. It is red, yellow, black & green. It shows a globe sitting in a compass with the words "ADVENTURERS CLUB" written across the globe, and "MEMBER" written below. Also, this pin is tiny compared to it's predecessor, being only about one inch in size. There is no Disney backstamp...it has the Disney trademark right above the word MEMBER. The back of the pin is a clasp-type of safety pin.
From my knowledge, this pin is given out to guests that particapate in the shows around the club. This particular pin started to replace #15102 around 7/18/04.

I don't know if it's still available but you used to be able to purchase an Adventurer's Club Member Kit. There were two price ranges, $20 (Jr. Explorer's Kit) and $40 I think. Adventures Club Member pin from Pleasure Island The Adventurer's Club. A person paid a fee and took an oath got pin and member secret word. In order to recieve the pin you had to be chosen to be in the old time radio show. Then if you wore the pin you would get free pretzels. The promotion ended years ago. Pin has clutch back type pin. Is black Plastic with raised gold letters. Pin is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4". Has Disney copyright on front. Scan doesn't show bright gold paint on lettering. |
